Program Overview:The Early Childhood Career Ladder (ECCL) is a New York City funded initiative jointly managed by the Day Care Council of New York and DC1707-205. The goal of the ECCL program is to increase the number of certified and accredited early childhood educators in nonprofit community-based settings. The program provides eligible individuals with financial assistance for early childhood education coursework leading to a permanent New York State teaching certification or a nationally recognized accreditation in early childhood education. The program also offers free exam preparation workshops for NY State teacher certification exams and a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.Job Duties Include:-Assist program participants in the development of their academic study plans.-Act as a liaison between program staff and academic partners at local universities.-Assist program participants in navigating the college registration process.-Empower and assist participants to troubleshoot and overcome the barriers to their education-Coordinate closely with other team members and attend weekly meetings-Track student status in data systems and keep student files up to date.Candidate Qualifications:-BA degree in Human Services, Career Counseling, or Social Work-2 years of related work experience-Proficiency with data entry-Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, not required-Occasional Saturday availability a plusSalary is commensurate with education and experience, health care insurance and retirement benefits are included.Interested job candidates should email a resume AND cover letter to mmiksic@ Associated topics: child care, daycare, daycare teachers, early, early education, kindergarten, nursery education, pre kindergarten, preschool assistant teacher, toddler
